A free community evening celebrating Turkish food, music and heritage is coming to Twickenham Civic Centre, 44 York Street — and no booking is needed to attend.
The event, called A Taste of Türkiye, is part of the borough's 'Loved & Wanted Here' campaign, which aims to bring communities together through shared culture. Visitors can try Turkish food, enjoy live music and take part in games, as well as explore a guided overview of ten iconic Turkish landmarks and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, led by an experienced teacher.
The event is free and open to all — a genuinely accessible drop-in that doesn't require advance registration. It's the kind of evening that travels well even if you have only an hour to spare.
The Civic Centre is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm for general enquiries, but the evening event sits outside those hours — residents should check the council's events page for the confirmed start time and date before heading over. Full details are available via Richmond Council's news page.
